Rhythm returns to Footscray in February, in a (queer AF) art and music site takeover. Get ready for an incredible night showcasing a lineup of First Nations artists, including: Djanaba, Soju Gang, Naycab, and Aqueerius in the gallery.

While the exhibition openings for PHOTO2024: Exquisite Corpse and Queer PHOTO are SOLD OUT, we welcome walk-ins to our live music event kicking off from 4pm.

Free queer art exhibitions, screenings and live music, including the much-anticipated openings of Queer PHOTO and PHOTO2024 exhibitions presenting local and international artists.

Kick-off with the official exhibition openings with artist talks, followed by the screening of Marungka Tjalatjunu. Then join the evening’s festivities at the amphitheater, complete with a pop-up bar and stunning views of the Maribyrnong River and city skyline at sunset!

Salote Tawale’s Exquisite Corpse delves into her Australian-Fijian heritage and Indigenous knowledge, celebrating reinvented artistry and cultural intersections. In the Queer PHOTO exhibitions, Clifford Prince King, Derik Lynch, Matthew Thorne, Daniel Jack Lyons, Jake Elwes, Lilah Benetti, FAFSWAG showcase intimate queer and trans narratives, as well as bla(c)k identity, exploring spirituality and Indigenous culture. Experience these exhibitions indoors and out.

Follow Yankunytjatjara man Derik Lynch’s trip back to Country for spiritual healing – a journey from oppressive white city life in Adelaide, back home to his remote Anangu Community (Aputula) to perform on sacred Inma ground. Learn more about this here.
