Footscray Art Prize
The inaugural Footscray Art Prize is a biennial non-acquisitive visual art prize, highlighting a range of contemporary artworks from multiple platforms and disciplines. Presented by Footscray Community Arts Centre, Maribyrnong City Council, Footscray Rotary and Victoria University, the Footscray Art Prize attracted entries from diverse national and local Australian artists.
This exhibition showcases the shortlisted works in the Footscray Art Prize and includes the winners of the Tertiary Art and Young Artists prizes. It represents a significant overview of Australia’s contemporary and innovative art scene, contributing towards Footscray’s reputation as a thriving arts and cultural hub.
FCAC is proud to present the Footscray Art Prize exhibition showcasing works shortlisted for the major prize of $10,000.

EXHIBITION: Friday 26 May – Saturday 24 June
VENUE: Roslyn Smorgon Gallery and Gabriel Gallery
Sponsored by Cheaper Buy Miles, Footscray Plaza and Footscray Rotary, the Prize also comprises categories for street art, with large-scale works found on four walls in Footscray; tertiary students, exhibited at VU at MetroWest until 17 June; and the Young Artists Prize, which was exhibited at the Bluestone Church Arts Space in May.
