Footscray Photo Tour for Beginners
Do you own a digital SLR camera but not sure how to get the most from it?
The Footscray Photo Tour is the most enjoyable way for beginners to learn essential photography skills. Facilitated by trained photographer Jessica Ibacache, you will go on a walking tour around the Footscray area, starting at Footscray Community Arts Centre, through to Footscray markets and the many graffiti laneways.
Jessica will offer hands-on advice and run you through a range of technical aspects, including aperture, shutter speed and ISO. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave feeling confident in your abilities to take beautiful photographs.
Essential to bring your own DSLR. Suitable for beginners.

ABOUT FCAC TUTOR: Jessica Ibacache
Jessica Ibacache is an artist, writer and curator based in Melbourne. An underlying theme through her work is the commitment to breaking down barriers of access to the arts.
Inspired by her Chilean heritage and family’s migration story, her art and writing explores the complexities of Latinx culture including connection to community and familial ties, and the migrant experience and diaspora identity.
She has curated exhibitions at Footscray Community Arts Centre, VU at MetroWest and Loop Project Space, and produced creative events at Emerging Writers Festival and One Night in Footscray. Jessica is the co-founder of Yo Soy – a Melbourne-based collective for Latinx creatives.
