Happy Art Hour: The Look of Love
This is a special Valentine’s Day event with a difference. Gaze at your main squeeze over champagne, chocolate and charcoal! In this workshop you will explore drawing as a way of deepening your ability to capture what you see creatively. You do not need any art training for this enjoyable exploration of how we look. Guided by expert facilitator Margaret Mayhew, you’ll work on a series of short and long exercises, culminating in a charcoal portrait of your valentine.
Suitable for all levels. No drawing experience necessary.
WHEN: Thursday 14 February, 7pm – 9pm
VENUE: ArtLife Studio
COST: $60 per person or $110 for two people (includes one drink per person)
ABOUT FCAC TUTOR: Margaret Mayhew
Margaret Mayhew has drawn, modelled, taught and researched life drawing for more than two decades. After completing her BFA at the National Art School, Sydney, she spent a few years life modelling and painting landscapes in Brittany before undertaking a PhD researching contemporary life drawing in England, the USA, France and Australia. Since moving to Melbourne she has continued to develop and exhibit work and teach drawing to asylum seekers in detention and in the community. She is currently completing a book for Bloomsbury Press called Looking at Life Drawing, and is looking forward to sharing a creative, dynamic approach to life drawing with participants.
