With bold, layered imagery and text, artist Ibrahim Ibrahim flexes his masculinity and shouts to the world what it is to be deaf and Sudanese living in Australia.
Creating characters in which to reside, Ibrahim becomes the hero IBBYMAN, the strongest man around, defeating his rivals and revelling in the adulation of the crowd. Rock’n’Roll wrestling, fast cars, and superheroes fill IBBYMAN’s ‘larger than life’ world made with paint, collage and text.
