Extreme Arts: Theatre Intensive ‘What Lies Beneath’
What does the world look like underneath the ground?
What can you see when your eyes adjust to the darkness?
What if you could breathe underwater and live in the ocean?
Have you heard the old saying, ‘beauty is only skin deep?’
Join Penny Harpham and Hayley Lawson as they explore what lies beneath the world we live in. Over four days of action-packed activities – including theatre games, songs, dancing, script-writing, acting, set construction and costume design – Penny and Hayley will ask their group of young participants to band together and turn the theme ‘What Lies Beneath’ into their own unique theatrical production. Suitable for children aged between 6 – 12 years.
Performance will be on Thursday 12 April at 2:30pm. Friends and family welcome.

‘I love the drama program and Penny, Hayley and Tennessee are fantastic. It is so much fun. It has made me feel confident and although I have been many times it is very exciting and I always learn new things. I meet nice people and love helping write the script and creating my character and performing at the end.’ – Sam Chandley, aged 8
‘It is such a wonderful, creative program and it really engages the kids. I love watching the kids perform and see how confident they are and how well they work together. Penny and Hayley are incredible with the kids, we are so lucky.’ – Judy Chandley, parent
‘FCAC holiday programs are always a really positive experience. The program is always excellent and the theatre intensive, in particular, allows them four days to build on something creative and I find they get a real sense of achievement. They also get to interact with a range of age groups and I’ve found they take on more responsibility as they get older in the programs.’ – Ani Mattila, parent of two
Presented as part of FCAC’s Arts Learning Program.
