From a one day gathering in 2010, our annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture has grown to one of the most important events in our calendar, and the launch of FCAC’s 2014 Artistic Program. The main Wominjeka festival day at Footscray Community Arts Centre
is a celebration amongst the community and friends of Indigenous arts,
culture and music. Join us from 1pm onwards for food, activities, stalls,
celebrations, a special Wadeye TV screening and more.

The Amphitheatre Program

Leading to the launch of Footscray Community Arts Centre’s Artistic Program
for the year, the Wominjeka 2014 Amphitheatre Program
includes local entertainment and contemporary ceremony. Councillor
Catherine Cumming
will launch the new Maribyrnong City Council
Indigenous Policy and Reconciliation Action Plan 2013-2018

that supports local Indigenous Australians, honours local Indigenous
history and celebrates both.
