Footscray Art Prize 2019 – Entries Now Open
The Footscray Art Prize is a biennial non-acquisitive visual art prize for contemporary artworks across multiple platforms and disciplines.
Established in 2016, it contributes to Footscray’s reputation as a thriving cultural hub that supports and fosters the arts, and provides an opportunity to celebrate this artistic vibrancy and creativity.
It is open for entries nationally and does not have a theme. Entries are open to all Australian residents, giving contemporary artists an opportunity to share in $17,500 worth of prizes and showcase their art in Melbourne’s inner west.
Works shortlisted for the Footscray Art Prize will be exhibited in FCAC’s Roslyn Smorgon Gallery and Gabriel Gallery, Thursday 20 June – Saturday 20 July.
The Footscray Art Prize is comprised of four categories.
– Footscray Art Prize (Main), $10,000
– Street Art Prize, $5,000
– Tertiary Prize, $1,500
– Young Artists Prize – Primary, $500 and Secondary, $500
Entries close on 15 March. Shortlised works will be announced late April.
