Salma Osman is a multidisciplinary artist and designer joining the dots between community, art and culture. She is interested in examining how creative practice can contribute to community, civic engagement, and create spaces for dialogue.
Recognising the power of art as a means of cultivating communal awareness and connectivity, Salma’s work is designed to address the typical disconnection between the public and the process by which community, place, and art is made. As such, her practice is interdependent and collaborative, seeking to actively involve the public as both participant and collaborator in the on-going realisation of the work.
A seeker of knowledge, Salma holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Journalism, Masters in Urban Development and Design, and Graduate Certificate in Art and Community Engagement.
