WOW Melbourne FAQs

TICKETS

I can’t make all three days, can a friend take my ticket?

Yes! To ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to participate in WOW Melbourne, we have made our three day Festival Passes transferable. For the day you can’t make it, simply give your printed Festival Pass to your friend and they will be provided access to WOW Melbourne for that day (or days!).

What is a Pay-It-Forward ticket?

Through partnerships with Arnold Bloch Leibler and Maribyrnong City Council, as well as generous individual donations, FCAC has provided Pay-It-Forward tickets to members of our community. These include allocations by our Indigenous Advisory Group to the Indigenous community.

If you would like to contribute to additional Pay-It-Forward tickets to our communities, simply make a donation when making your booking.

I can’t afford a WOW Festival Pass or Single Day ticket. How can I access WOW Melbourne?

We want everyone to be able to participate in WOW Melbourne and have done our best to create a festival that can be accessed in multiple ways. All three day Festival Passes are transferrable, so you can split the cost of one pass between three friends.

There are also many free activities to participate in, including our WOW Melbourne concert, Women of the World MAKE NOISE on March 25. Check out our full program of FREE events here.

We are live tweeting several of the events and we will be sharing post-festival podcasts, videos and photos on our social media platforms.

AT WOW MELBOURNE

Will there be food at WOW?

FCAC is surrounded by fantastic food options all within a short walk. A map of the food on offer will be provided at Festival and downloadable from this website. Festival Pass holders will also receive special WOW discounts at our WOW Café partner restaurants. And on Saturday 25 March, food trucks will be on site from 5pm to provide tasty and fortifiying meals to help you and all the other Women of the World MAKE NOISE.

Is the WOW Melbourne venue accessible?

  • FCAC is wheelchair accessible throughout.
  • A hearing loop is provided for events in the Peformance Space.
  • FCAC provides Auslan interpreting on request.
  • Please contact us two weeks prior to the event.
  • Seeing eye dogs are welcome at all festival events.

How do I get to participate in everything at WOW?

There are so many wonderful, interesting and urgent conversations to be had about achieving gender equality that we have a very busy program and so some events do run at the same time. Where possible keynotes have been repeated across the 3 days so everyone gets a chance to hear from these incredible speakers. Panels are not repeated but you will see WOW speakers multiple times across the program. We are live tweeting several of the events and we will be sharing post-festival podcasts, videos and photos on our social media platforms.

Finally we have tried to create a fun and engaging festival with plenty of opportunities for attendees to interact, share ideas and hold their own important conversations with each other. Some times the best way to experience WOW is to grab a coffee, a chair and have a chat with the person next to you.
