Event Information

When did you say goodbye to the person you were supposed to be?

Kavitha, the gifted daughter of Sri Lankan Tamil refugees, gives up her dream to become an actress to climb the corporate ladder. However, she’s given a second chance by a cloning service that provides her with a clone who will fulfil her abandoned dreams. Kavitha watches her clone, Kaye, flourish from a far. But when Kaye becomes an adult, a confrontation reveals that Kaye’s freedom is a curse of its own.

The Suppostabys is an irreverent journey through frustrated migrant hopes, regret, and the identities we create and betray to survive in the modern world.

The Suppostabys is presented by Footscray Community Arts in partnership with Jewel Box
