Theatre and Film Essentials for Kids: Loud and Proud
FCAC’s renowned performance class for kids is back! Children will learn theatre and film techniques while building their self-confidence.
Hayley Lawson has taught performance in a fun and inclusive way for years. Children will learn acting in front of an audience as well as exploring character work, scripting, camera skills, movement, voice and acting techniques. These classes are inspired by community theatre and enhance the unique strengths of each participant.
A fun and safe environment for kids to unleash their creativity!
WHEN: Tuesdays 20 July – 14 September (9 weeks), 4pm – 5pm
Tuesdays 12 October – 14 December (9 weeks), 4pm – 5pm
No classes 2 November – Public holiday
WHERE: Basement Theatre
COST: $150 (9 sessions)
AGES: 8-12 years old
Please Note: The health and safety of our staff, artists and patrons is FCAC’s highest priority. You will be required to follow all COVID-19 protocol at the centre. Please bring a mask to wear in any indoor or outdoor spaces where social distancing is not possible. You will also be expected to observe to maximum room capacities, printed outside each venue.

About the Teaching Artist
HAYLEY JOY LAWSON
Hayley Joy Lawson is a performer and director with over 15 years experience in the theatre, film & performing arts industry. She is a graduate of La Trobe University and has also studied theatre performance in New Zealand. Hayley started her career at the age of 10 as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and the stage has been her home ever since. Hayley has taught drama to children through Helen O’Grady’s Drama Academy as well as DramaworX. Hayley works alongside other critically acclaimed theatre artists in the Theatre Intensive Holiday Program events at Footscray Community Arts Centre.
