West Writers Forum: Stories of place – FRESH!

Overview

FRESH! is a dramedy web series created by Nikki Tran. Inspired by Footscray’s fresh food market, this series is about community, market life and migrant experiences.

WHEN: Sunday 1 September, 11am – 6pm
VENUE: Footscray Community Arts Centre
COST: Free. The film will be running continuously throughout the day.

About the Artist:

Nikki Tran
Nikki is a filmmaker, State Library of Victoria creative fellow and member of Footscray Community Arts Centre’s West Writers. Her creative practice has received professional development support from Film Victoria, AFTRS, Screen Australia and Malthouse Theatre.

Nikki’s web series FRESH! premiered at the 2018 Melbourne edition of Series Mania and followed with screenings at LA Film Festival, NYC Web Fest, Gold Coast Film Festival, Melbourne Web Fest and Seoul Web Fest.

Her latest production is GIRL, INTERPRETED, created by Grace Feng, the web series centres around a newbie Mandarin interpreter caught in a tussle of words and cultures during unexpected interpreting assignments.
