Lisa Maza

Lisa Maza (Meriam/Yidindji/Dutch) has twenty years experience working as a professional actor and singer. Recently performing in The Rabbits (Opera Australia/Barking Gecko) for Perth, Melbourne & Sydney Festival seasons and Brisbane. With a strong belief in Self-determination, Lisa completed a Cert IV in Business (Governance) in 2011 and is currently a member of Ilbijerri Theatre’s Board, the VIPAA panel and Malthouse Theatre’s Indigenous advisory panel. Keen to see more of her mob telling their own story, Lisa began developing her writing skills in 2007, co-writing Sisters of Gelam, which premiered at Malthouse Theatre in Nov 2009. Earlier that same year she completed a Certificate III in media at Open Channel, Co-directing her first documentary Living in Two Worlds, which premiered at St Kilda Film Festival in May 2009. Her most recent documentary Maza’s Got Talent premiered on NITV in 2014.
