RESIDENCE: Artist Callout

RESIDENCE is FCAC’s new residency program offering independent artists and small-medium collectives a space to experiment with practice, create innovative arts projects and conduct research in a communal and inclusive environment. These creative spaces will be provided at no cost to artists participating in the first year.

RESIDENCE is for local, national and international artists across all disciplines and at any stage of their career. We particularly encourage EOIs from FCAC’s communities of focus: Indigenous, migrant and refugee, disability and LGBTQIA+ communities, along with artists with practices or projects that align with FCAC’s values and goals.

Studios, galleries and performance spaces will be available
at no cost to artists during the program’s first year.

FCAC invites artists to take up RESIDENCE throughout the newly refurbished Henderson House for up to 4 months at a time. Available spaces include artist studios, sound studio, gallery space, and the theatre space. Artists will benefit from a range of onsite facilities, including internet access, meeting areas, accessible toilets, kitchenette facilities, on-site café, free parking, and access to the FCAC community and programs. Please note that none of the studios have a wet area.

FCAC recognises the increased difficulty in finding creative workspaces at this time. In solidarity with artists who are among the hardest hit by COVID19, RESIDENCE spaces are being offered in-kind for the first year.

RESIDENCE artists will organise their own schedule, projects, materials and equipment. They will be expected to present outcomes from their time in the studio, e.g. works-in-progress, showings, exhibitions, studio talks. We also encourage RESIDENCE artists to be active and present in their studios, connect with other residents, and engage with the FCAC community through our program of events. Please note that artists will need to source their own production support.

Meet our current Artists in Residence.

Submit an EOI

RESIDENCE EOIs open on Monday 2 November. EOIs can be submitted via online form, or in audio or visual formats. Deadline for EOIs is 11.59pm Tuesday 1 December.
