Notice something different?

Introducing our brand new look!

This year Footscray Community Arts Centre turns 40. Since our founding in 1974 to today, we have welcomed more than 2 million people through our doors, and grown to deliver more than 1800 activities each year and invest more than $40,000 of in-kind support for community groups each month.

In short, we have created a home for arts and community that is like no other.

And so, with such a significant decade upon us, we decided it was time to make sure our communications were working as hard as we were to celebrate the creativity and diversity of the communities we work with.

With generous support from the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and Gandel Philanthropy, we have spent the past year reviewing and updating all of our online and print communications. During this time we have sought input from our members, subscribers and staff, as well as a specially formed community reference group who have given time to provide feedback along the way.

Armed with this feedback we developed a brief for our talented design partners, Sweet Creative, to create a new look for FCAC that is accessible, contemporary and flexible.  Working closely with FCAC staff and the community reference group, the team at Sweet have created a look that we feel reflects just what FCAC is:

A vibrant, unique, creative and innovative art centre that is deeply rooted in the diverse community it represents.

Inspired by the concept that all communities make and share patterns, Sweet have created a bold new brandmark with three inter-changeable patterns that highlight the community in Footscray Community Arts Centre.

From there, the super-clever and innovative team at Twenty4 Digital Agency have worked their magic to build us a whole new website that showcases the events, exhibitions, and workshops that FCAC delivers each year, as well as our artists in residence, cultural tenants and venues. Oh, and did we mention it has a calendar?

While we are still rolling out our new branding across the organisation, we’d like to take a moment to thank the following people for their thoughtful feedback, assistance and generosity:
