Indigenous Leadership Group
Our Constitution, updated in 2016, acknowledges and honours Country, recognising the vital role of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in our mission, and local area. This update also established the Indigenous Leadership Group within our governance structure.
The Indigenous Leadership Group is comprised of Elders, community leaders, artists, and cultural workers.
They provide guidance on:
Co-curating the Indigenous Cultural Program.
Cultural protocol.
Organisational cultural competency.
Building relationships with Indigenous artists and communities.
Represents us at Indigenous forums and events nationally and internationally.
Aunty Annette Xiberras
Aunty Annette has worked in the field of Aboriginal cultural heritage for more than 25 years.
Paola Balla
Paola is an award winning visual artist, highly commended curator and sought-after community cultural development practitioner, speaker, facilitator and writer.
Karen Jackson
Karen Jackson is a Yorta Yorta woman and Director of the Moondani Balluk Indigenous Academic Unit.
