Rosie Kalina

Rosie Kalina is a proud Wemba Wemba and Gundjitmara woman. Raised by her Brilliantly creative Blak family, Rosie is an arts worker based on Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung country. 

Rosie’s background is in visual arts and curating, community arts work, and event producing. Rosie has engaged in multiple community focused art projects, such as co-curating the ‘Blak to the future’ series at Footscray Community Arts (2018-2025)  

Since 2019 Rosie has worked as a producer for YIRRAMBOI festival, where she has co-designed and directed events for and by mob, such as her directorial debut with ‘tomorrow’ a First Nations experimental fashion extravaganza (2023) and ‘Young Onez’ First Nations youth summit (2024) 

Rosie is neurodivergent and advocates for disability justice within the arts, and has now moved into the role of Access Advisor for YIRRAMBOI and Moondani Balluk, where she collaborates and works with d/Deaf and Disabled First Nations creatives in embedding accessibility into our spaces, creating safer experiences for our community.  

Rosie aims to ensure First Nations autonomy and truth are at the forefront of every project she is part of, with the guidance of her Elders and community.
