Event Information
Between Islands is an afternoon of performance and conversation exploring the artists and ideas of the TarraWarra Biennial 2023: ua usiusi faʻavaʻasavili.
Between Islands deeply and joyfully explores a key theme of the Biennial: the survival and transmission of knowledge outside of Western Culture. The knowledge systems sustained and practiced by the artists of ua usiusi faʻavaʻasavili – ancestral, trans, cultural, familial and embodied – offer us pathways towards cultural renewal, neighbourly exchange and joyful futures.
Featuring a new performance by Bhenji Ra and and Nayuka Gorrie as well as a conversation with three Biennial artists, we warmly invite you to join us for refreshments at the conclusion of the event.
The TarraWarra Biennial 2023 is currently open until 16 July at the TarraWarra Museum of Art.
Sunday 7 May 2023, 1:30—6pm
Venue: Footscray Community Arts
