Event Information
After more than three years of community collaboration, creativity, unexpected discoveries and determination, Lango is finally here.
To mark this long-awaited milestone, Footscray Community Arts invites you to Lango Live – a two-day celebration of live music, performance and community, launching our extraordinary new outdoor performance space.
With live music from KAIIT, Drifting Clouds, Shewita, Naycab, Afrodisiac and Mothafunk (plus a special guest to be revealed), Lango Live brings together an incredible lineup of artists to be among the first to take the stage at Lango.
Across two days, experience Lango as it was imagined: alive with music, artists, audiences and community. Gather on the lawns, discover the new space and celebrate the beginning of a new chapter for Footscray Community Arts.
Join us on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October and be part of Lango’s very first weekend.
Live music. Free. Everyone welcome.
We know we’ve been talking about this moment for a while — thank you for sticking with us while we got the space ready. Lango is a new place to gather, experience and celebrate creativity together.
Ticketing Update (Wednesday 21 Oct): Lango Live is now sold out across both days. Please join the waitlist via Humanitix to be notified when tickets become available.
This event will take place on Lango, the brand-new architecturally designed outdoor performance space which sits on our riverside lawns, looking out to the banks of the Maribyrnong River. Whilst Lango Live is free to attend, ticket bookings are required as capacity is limited.

Afrodisiac
Afrodisiac is a DJ driven by feeling, shaping sets that pull people in and keep them moving. Flowing from house to ever-expanding influences, she focuses less on genre and more on the moments that connect the dance floor, building momentum that’s hard to step away from.
Whether it’s opening, playing peak time, or closing out the night, Afrodisiac shapes with intention, balancing intensity to create an ever-evolving experience. There is a natural flow to her style, blending familiar sounds with left turns that keep dancers on their toes and deep in the groove.
Clocking eight years behind the decks, she’s performed across Australia and become a steady presence in Melbourne’s club and festival circuit. Grounded in connection, movement, and a love of the dance floor, her sound has drawn crowds at iconic events and venues including Strawberry Fields, CONFIDE, Freeform Festival, Beyond The Valley, Party in The Paddock, Let Them Eat Cake, Club 77, and Solace.

KAIIT
With honeyed vocals, magnetic charisma & spirit, Papua New Guinean-born artist KAIIT (pronounced Ky-Yeet) stands as one of Australia’s most compelling musical forces. Conjuring up a blend of neo-soul, hip-hop, with the intimacy of jazz club magic, she delivers velvet vocals with raw storytelling and fearless presence. Early co-signs from Erykah Badu and Jill Scott signalled her global potential. She’s earned both the 2019 ARIA Award for Best Rnb/Soul work for “Miss Shiney” and the 2025 APRA Award for Most Performed R&B/Soul Work with her first independently released track “Space.” Having shared stages with SZA, Snoh Aalegra, and ChakaKhan, KAIIT doesn’t fit in a box, she builds the room.

Shewita
Eritrean born & nipaluna/Hobart bred, Shewita is an exciting new voice in Australian music. Since debuting her live set in the back-half of 2025 at festivals such as Parramatta Lanes and Canberra’s National Multicultural Festival, she released her debut EP Canvas in mid-2026 through Music In Exile. Showcasing her unique blend of pop, funk, R&B/soul and club, the shimmery six-track project produced by one of Australia’s most sought-after musicians, Akey Amy, explores themes of love, relationships, grief and escapism. With two singles ‘Too Soon’ & ‘CINS’ scoring first plays on TOPS on Triple J Unearthed, the project garnered a myriad of rotation additions across radio stations nationally (fbi radio, PBS, Double J, SYN & RTR FM), and a feature as part of Triple R’s weekly ‘Live At Triple R’ program. Launching two music videos and a visualiser as part of her release campaign for tracks ‘Geminii’, ‘Used To It’ & ‘CINS’ cemented her creative vision, boasting collaborations with directors Olivia Tremul (dir. ‘Geminii’), James Morris (dir ‘Used To It’) and 3D-artist Jonathan Puc (‘CINS’). After performing a run of shows across the east coast throughout September ’26, two of which launched her EP with the likes of Rainbow Chan, Indira Elias & Mayari, Shewita is armed and ready to continue building, learning and collaborating. Today she is joined by Akey Amy and Ari Murdoch, both steady fixtures of the Naarm indie scene.

Drifting Clouds
Drifting Clouds were conceived in the homelands of Bunhungura, a 20 minute drive from Gapuwiyak. Lead singer, songwriter and keyboardist Terry Guyula has been honing his skills from a young age, while first connecting with music from watching his uncles fellowship band and then playing drums and keyboards in school. After graduating Guyula went on to study at Abmusic in Perth, where he first started singing, writing and developing his own style.
Guyula’s ethereal sound draws from an eclectic mix of genres from synthpop, 80’s, rock and country, while drawing from Songlines, Dreamtime Stories, culture and life in community, Drifting Clouds achieve a nuanced vision. In Gapuwiyak, Guyula formed an eight piece family band to back up and perform his originals. In a packed out troopy, the band have travelled and performed at a string of the NT’s most prestigious cultural festivals including Garma, Barunga, Bush Bands Bash, Stone Country and more.
The band’s name comes from distinctive clouds that roll in from the east, appearing as a coat of many patterns. The patterns have names, one is Dhumbarpar: ‘drifting clouds’
