Azlan Petra is an emerging cultural facilitator; community support worker and an advocate for anti-racism and human rights.
He hopes to engage with people on race and racism by exploring all the issues related and relevant to race, racism and
racial awareness. He would also like to examine, explore
and experiment the narratives on race and racism and hopes to find different and creative ways to talk about these complicated and contentious issues that will inspire empathy, understanding and solidarity.
Azlan Petra’s 2014 ECL Project:
Azlan is using his opportunity in the ECL program to explore and experiment different, creative and unconventional ways to engage with people on the issues of race and racism. He hopes exposure to the arts will provide the ideas, skills and tools to create the ways and space to address race and racism in Australia.
