Celine Yap

A folk musician and activist, Celine writes and performs in support for social and environmental justice. Celine says her passion to work within the community comes from the ‘realization that we all have the power to make a change in our communities’.

In 2014, she began the project ‘Musicians for Detainees’, which brings together musicians to perform monthly gigs at detention centres. As part of her ECL project, Celine organised the ‘Activist Arts Festival‘ – showcasing activist organisations in Melbourne by exhibiting protest art, music, spoken word and film.
