Madeleine Webster

Madeleine Webster is a visual artist whose work reimagines classic fairytales through the lens of her own life experiences, particularly her school years. Using fineliners, pencils, and markers, she creates detailed two-dimensional scenes that blend the bright and playful with the eerie and introspective. Influenced by a deep love of fairytales from childhood, Webster explores themes of life, death, and hidden darkness within these seemingly innocent stories. Her work moves fluidly between vibrant color and stark monochrome, evoking both nostalgia and unease. She is currently developing a large-scale installation inspired by The Three Little Pigs, crafting immersive storybook-style houses that invite viewers into her imaginative world.
