On this page, you will find information to help you plan your visit. Footscray Community Arts is committed to improving access across the precinct for everyone.

We acknowledge that there are access challenges inherent in our heritage buildings and gardens and planning is being undertaken to address these. We are also always learning more about improving and embedding access in our events, so are open to your feedback.

Find Us

Footscray Community Arts is located on the banks of the Maribyrnong River and can be accessed by public transport and car.

Parking will be limited due to construction works across the street, we encourage using public transport if you are able to.

Train

Catch a train to Footscray Station and take a 12 minute walk via the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Winfield St and Moreland St.

Bus

Take the 402 bus to the corner of Moreland Street and Dynon Road, and then a 5 minute walk down Moreland Street.

Taxi Drop Off

There is a taxi drop off area located in the car park on Moreland Street in front of Henderson House. There is a bench available to wait for taxis.

Parking

There are 2 hour unmetered car-parks in Footscray Community Arts’ front car park and metered parking on Moreland Street.

Cycle/Walk

Cycle or walk along the Maribyrnong River and enter Footscray Community Arts via Riverside Lawn.

Accessible Toilet Information

There are a number of accessible toilet facilities in the precinct which are open during our usual opening hours, and afterhours for events.

Warehouse Building: Accessible toilet with automatic door located on the ground level. Can be accessed via the main foyer hall way. Entry into the Warehouse Building is via the automatic sliding entry doors.

Henderson House – Top Floor: Accessible toilet located on the top floor. Can be accessed via the internal hallway (enter via the Entrance Gallery or Myrtle Wine Cafe). These toilets have a heavy entrance door and a slight change in levels between the floorboards and the tiles.

Henderson House – Basement Level: Accessible toilet located in the foyer to the Basement Theatre. Wheelchair access to this toilet is limited unless there is a performance/ event on in the Basement Theatre.
