Let’s Dance: Afrobeats for Kids
Event Information

Dagogo’s Afrobeats classes go off! In this special edition for kids and teens, Dagogo will help young people explore various West African musical styles with a mix of traditional and pop music. With a focus on building confidence, teamwork and technical skills, Afrobeats is an inclusive experience which will leave kids and teens feeling energized and upbeat. The ultimate feel-good way to exercise, these classes are high in demand and not to be missed! 

 These free dance classes are supported by the Reimagining Vichealth grant and are a fun way to get young people active in the community. Taught by highly experienced facilitators, they are a perfect place to make new friends for kids and teens. Classes will culminate in a catered performance for family and friends. 

When: 15 February – 29 March (7 sessions)
Tuesdays, 5.45-7pm

Performance on Saturday 2 April, 2-4pm

Meet the Artists
  • Dagogo Obogo
    Dagogo Obogo

    Born in Nigeria, instructor Dagogo’s talents have taken him all over the world, teaching and performing in more than 15 countries. He has received wide acclaim for his show stopping talents including 2 times Couples Dance Champion and Runner Up in the Let’s Dance West Africa.

    As an in-demand and accomplished choreographer, Dagogo has choreographed and taught dance creative development classes in more than 50 schools and choreographed productions made up of more than 1,000 people for various carnivals, events and shows. His work has featured in numerous musical productions.
