Part of Midsumma Festival 2022
Saturday 12 February. Sessions (30 min duration): 12.15pm, 1.15pm, 2.15pm.
Event Information
Face to Face is an evocative new work reflecting Deaf and Disabled experiences of isolation prior to COVID-19, and the common threads now experienced by most during the pandemic. The show weaves tactile and Auslan silhouette movements with an immersive and sensory-friendly audio described narrative.
Face to Face follows the highly successful Melbourne Fringe Festival season of Where do I Begin??, a Creative Access show co-designed by the Demographic Dance OFF and Pearl Blackk.
‘…immersive live art that plays with the audience/performer relationship in a way that is highly engaging and innovative – it was a beautifully nuanced and vibrant show that offered a rich immersion in interpretive dance and poetic Auslan.’
– Eilysh Toose, producer on Where do I Begin??
‘..such an organic performance, entrancing ambient sound and such an elegant concept.’
– audience member at Where do I Begin??
Presented by Midsumma Festival and The Demographic Dance OFF in association with Footscray Community Arts.
