Event Information

Maribyrnong is gearing up to host its first-ever Living Future Expo, a demonstration, and celebration, of Sustainability in Action.

Visitors can expect to hear from experts who will empower with the latest science, take part in workshops that inspire sustainable practice, and walk away feeling motivated to make immediate changes for better self-sufficiency.

With a focus on the climate emergency, eco-conscious living and innovation, the Expo will showcase a range of Council initiatives, e-vehicles, community exhibits, and interactive experiences designed to educate and motivate.

This is definitely not a box

What is a box? A gift or surprise? A delivery of something new or storage for something old? Join the indirect Object artists to transform everyday cardboard boxes into works of art. Using creative 3D design skills participants work alone or in small groups to deconstruct and reimagine, there’s only one rule – the box can be anything you want, but it can’t be a box anymore
and more!

Suitable for kids 5+

the indirect Object are festival, event and community engagement artists creating installations, activations, roving puppets and workshops for medium to large scale activations across eastern Australia.  Our installation work is playful, inclusive, accessible and designed for diverse needs.       We work with sustainable and recycled materials where possible. Our workshops and community engagement programs only use recycled, rescued, and repurposed materials.  We develop site-specific work on commission, collaborate with community and have a dedicated team of community volunteers who collect and source materials for us.
