Bec Cole

Bec is is Executive Director and Co-CEO of Footscray Community Arts and is a champion of creating access to contemporary art and performance for everyone.

She has worked extensively in local government across leadership, strategic and creative programming roles, spanning public art, galleries, performing arts, creative industry development, major events and activity centre settings. She also has significant experience in community engagement and policy development.

Bec has deep connections to the western suburbs, having led the Arts & Culture Team at Wyndham City Council, leaving a ten year legacy of deeply community engaged practice. More recently, she has worked at Monash Council in a strategic role as Creative Industries Lead. Bec was also the Director of Latrobe Regional Gallery from 2020-2022 and led the establishment of Gippsland Performing Arts Centre which opened in March 2022.

Bec holds a Master of Commerce with specialties in business, economics and marketing, winning the prestigious RMIT Master of Commerce Prize in 2018. She is also a graduate of the Master of Community Cultural Development program at the Victorian College of the Arts.

She is the Chair of NETS Victoria and a board member of RANT Arts, a peak body for regional arts in Tasmania.
