Dr Marnie Badham
Artist-Researcher
Originally from Canada, Marnie Badham is an artist-researcher exploring representational practice (policy, art, research) with politically and socially marginalized communities. Extending her PhD research on cultural indicators and socially engaged arts practice, Marnie was a Research Fellow for a 3 year ARC linkage grant (CI MacDowall) on aesthetics/evaluation. Exploring practice-led and participatory research methods, her research interests include the politics of cultural measurement and new forms of collaborative contemporary art.
Marnie lectures in the Masters of Community Cultural Development program and supervises PhD students at Centre for Cultural Partnerships, University of Melbourne. Marnie leads a research project on Culture and Development in Indonesia and collaborates on research grants in Canada. She publishes and presents her research extensively, while maintaining an active art practice through residencies, exhibitions and other community-based collaborations

Berasal dari Kanada, Marnie Badham adalah pekerja seni sekaligus peneliti yang mengeksplorasi praktek representasi (dalam hal kebijakan, kesenian dan penelitian) dalam masyarakat yang marjinal secara politik dan sosial. Beliau mengepalai sebuah proyek riset dalam bidang Budaya dan Pembangunan di Indonesia dan bekerja dengan dana hibah di Kanada. Beliau menerbitkan dan mempresentasikan hasil risetnya ke berbagai tempat, sambil tetap mempertahankan praktek berkesenian melalui sejumlah residensi, pameran dan kolaborasi berbasis komunitas.
