Event Information
In our next Happy Art Hour, we’re celebrating the work of iconic artist Barbara Kruger! Conceptual artist Barbara Kruger is known for her powerful collage pieces which consist of black-and-white photographs, overlaid with text. Kruger’s work comments and explores prevalent issues that are happening in the world around us, such as cultural constructions of power, identity, consumerism, the patriarchy and sexuality.
Using images and text from magazines and newspapers, you’ll learn how to make an artwork that makes a strong, personal statement about an issue you care about. Perfect for a group activity of even as some solo self-care. Let your hair down and explore your creative side— no previous experience is necessary and the only rule is to have as much fun as you can!
Ages: 18+
